Sword of the Spirit (Ephesians 6:17)
The sword of the Spirit is the Word of God — the believer's only offensive weapon and the same blade Christ used in the wilderness.
Of all the armor, only the sword strikes — and the sword is Scripture. Paul calls it 'the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God' (Ephesians 6:17). Hebrews 4:12 says it is 'quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword.' Jesus defeated Satan in the wilderness using nothing else.

Why It Matters
