    On the day the Lord would take Elijah, he and Elisha walked together from Gilgal toward Jordan. Elijah parted the Jordan with his mantle; they crossed over. As they talked, a chariot of fire and horses of fire parted them, and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven. Elisha picked up the fallen mantle.
