Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God who took on human flesh, born of the virgin Mary in Bethlehem. His birth was announced by angels, and wise men came from the East to worship Him. Raised in Nazareth by Mary and Joseph, He worked as a carpenter until beginning His public ministry at about thirty years of age.

John the Baptist baptized Jesus in the Jordan River, where God the Father declared, "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased," and the Holy Spirit descended upon Him. Following His baptism, Jesus was tempted by Satan in the wilderness for forty days, overcoming every temptation with Scripture.

Jesus's three-year ministry was marked by teaching, healing, and miraculous signs. He called twelve apostles to follow Him closely, teaching them the ways of the Kingdom of God. His Sermon on the Mount outlined the ethics of His kingdom. He healed the sick, gave sight to the blind, cleansed lepers, cast out demons, and raised the dead. He forgave sins, claiming authority that belongs to God alone.

The religious leaders of His day opposed Jesus, ultimately conspiring to have Him arrested. Betrayed by Judas, abandoned by His disciples, falsely accused, and condemned by both Jewish and Roman authorities, Jesus was crucified on Calvary. Yet this was no defeat—it was the plan of salvation. On the third day, Jesus rose from the dead, appearing to His disciples over forty days before ascending to heaven. He promised to return and reign forever as King of kings and Lord of lords.
