Big Idea
Jesus went up with a job for us and a promise to return.
Story Summary
For forty days after the resurrection Jesus showed Himself alive by many infallible proofs. He told the disciples to wait in Jerusalem for the promise of the Father, and that they would be witnesses to the uttermost part of the earth. Then He was taken up, a cloud received Him, and two men in white promised He would come again.
Memory Verse (KJV)
“This same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.”
Acts 1:11
Discussion Questions
- What were the disciples told to wait for?
- How far were they to be witnesses?
- What did the two men in white apparel say?
- If Jesus is coming back the same way, how should that change today?
