Big Idea
God's cure is usually simpler and humbler than our pride wants it to be.
Story Summary
Naaman was a great captain of Syria — and a leper. A little captive maid told her mistress about the prophet in Samaria. Naaman was furious when Elisha sent word to wash seven times in the muddy Jordan, but his servants persuaded him. He dipped seven times, and his flesh came again like the flesh of a little child.
Memory Verse (KJV)
“And his flesh came again like unto the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.”
2 Kings 5:14
Discussion Questions
- Who first told Naaman's household about the prophet?
Teacher hint: A little maid taken captive from Israel (2 Kgs 5:2–3).
- Why was Naaman angry at Elisha's instructions?
- What would have happened if he had washed only six times?
- God used a child to change a general's life. What could God do through you?
