    Nothing is too dead for God to raise.

    Story Summary

    God set Ezekiel down in a valley full of very dry bones and asked, 'Can these bones live?' Ezekiel prophesied as he was told; there was a noise and a shaking, bone came to bone, sinews and flesh came upon them, and the breath entered them. They lived and stood upon their feet, an exceeding great army.

    Discussion Questions

    1. What was Ezekiel's answer when God asked whether the bones could live?

      Teacher hint: 'O Lord GOD, thou knowest' (Ezek 37:3).

    2. What happened first — the flesh, or the breath?
    3. What did the bones stand for?

      Teacher hint: The whole house of Israel, who said their hope was lost (Ezek 37:11).

    Craft Idea: Cotton-Bud Bone Picture

    Supplies

    • Black paper
    • Cotton buds
    • Glue
    • White chalk or pencil

    Steps

    1. Glue cotton buds onto the black paper as scattered bones.
    2. On the other half of the page, arrange them into a standing figure.
    3. Write Ezekiel 37:5 between the two halves.
    4. Blow gently on the page as you read verse 10.
