    Big Idea

    Sin always breaks what God made good — and from the very first day God promised a Saviour.

    Story Summary

    God gave Adam and Eve a beautiful garden and only one rule: do not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. The serpent twisted God's word, Eve took the fruit, and Adam ate with her. Sin entered the world, but even as God judged them He promised a Deliverer who would one day bruise the serpent's head.

    Memory Verse (KJV)

    “And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.”

    Discussion Questions

    1. What was the one thing God told Adam and Eve not to do?

      Teacher hint: They could eat of every tree except the tree of the knowledge of good and evil (Gen 2:16–17).

    2. How did the serpent change God's words when he spoke to Eve?

      Teacher hint: He added doubt — 'Yea, hath God said?' — then flatly denied the warning (Gen 3:1, 3:4).

    3. What did Adam and Eve do as soon as they had sinned? Why do people still hide from God?
    4. Where is the good news hiding inside God's judgment in verse 15?

      Teacher hint: The woman's seed — Christ — would crush the serpent.

    Craft Idea: Two-Tree Garden Card

    Supplies

    • Folded card stock
    • Green and brown paper scraps
    • Glue stick
    • Crayons

    Steps

    1. Fold the card and draw a garden path down the middle.
    2. Glue a green paper tree on each side — one labelled 'Trust God', one 'My own way'.
    3. Write Genesis 3:15 under the trees.
    4. Talk about which tree they will choose this week.

    1. Welcome (5 min): Pray, then read the memory verse aloud three times together.
    2. Story (10 min): Tell the story summary in your own words; open a KJV to Genesis 3.
    3. Discussion (10 min): Walk through the questions above. Let every child answer at least once.
    4. Craft (15 min): Make the two-tree garden card.
    5. Wrap-up (5 min): Hand out the worksheet to finish at home and recite the memory verse one last time.
