    Big Idea

    Safety was never in the family inside the house — it was in the blood on the door.

    Story Summary

    Pharaoh would not let Israel go, so God sent ten plagues on Egypt — from the water turned to blood to the death of the firstborn. On the last night every Israelite family killed a lamb and put its blood on the door posts. Where God saw the blood, He passed over, and Israel walked out of Egypt free.

    Discussion Questions

    1. Why did God send the plagues?

      Teacher hint: So Pharaoh would let Israel go, and so Egypt would know that He is the LORD (Ex 7:5).

    2. What did each family have to do on the Passover night?
    3. What kept the Israelites safe — being Israelite, or the blood?
    4. Paul calls Christ 'our passover' (1 Cor 5:7). What does that mean?

    Craft Idea: Passover Doorway Frame

    Supplies

    • Brown card stock
    • Red paint or red paper strips
    • Cotton buds
    • Glue

    Steps

    1. Cut a simple doorway shape from brown card.
    2. Paint or glue red along the two side posts and the lintel.
    3. Write Exodus 12:13 inside the doorway.
    4. Stand it up as a table reminder at home.

    1. Welcome (5 min): Pray, then read the memory verse aloud three times together.
    2. Story (10 min): Tell the story summary in your own words; open a KJV to Exodus 7–12.
    3. Discussion (10 min): Walk through the questions above. Let every child answer at least once.
    4. Craft (15 min): Make the passover doorway frame.
    5. Wrap-up (5 min): Hand out the worksheet to finish at home and recite the memory verse one last time.
