Big Idea
When things look impossible, God makes a way — we only need to stand still and trust Him.
Story Summary
After Pharaoh finally let God's people leave Egypt, he changed his mind and chased them with horses and chariots. The Israelites stood trapped between Pharaoh's mighty army and the Red Sea. They were terrified, but Moses told them to stand still and see the salvation of the LORD. Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and the LORD caused a strong east wind to blow all night, dividing the waters until dry ground appeared in the middle. The Israelites walked safely across with walls of water on both sides. When the Egyptians followed, the waters crashed back together, and Israel saw that the LORD had saved them.

- Why were the Israelites afraid at the edge of the Red Sea?

Craft Idea: Parted Red Sea Picture
Supplies
- Blue construction paper
- White wax crayon
- Blue watercolor paint and brush
- Scissors
- Small paper people cutouts
Steps
- Draw wave shapes on both sides of the blue paper using a white wax crayon.
- Paint over the whole page with blue watercolor — the wax resists the paint and the waves shine through.
- Cut a straight path down the middle to look like dry ground.
- Glue small paper cutouts of people walking through the parted sea.
- Add the Exodus 14:14 memory-verse label at the bottom.
