Read John 6:1–13 in the KJVA hungry crowd
A great crowd followed Jesus up a mountain by the Sea of Galilee. It was late, and the people needed food.
A little lunch
Andrew said, “There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many?”
Jesus gives thanks
Jesus told the people to sit down on the grass. He took the loaves and gave thanks to God.
Food for everyone
The bread and fish were given out to the people sitting on the grass. Everyone had as much as they wanted.
Twelve baskets
When everyone was full, Jesus said, “Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost.” His friends filled twelve baskets with the pieces left over!
Jesus cares for people and has power to provide.
What can you thank God for before your next meal?
Dear Jesus, thank you for the food we have. Help us give thanks and care for those who need food. Amen.
