Read Exodus 2:1–10 in the KJVA baby boy
In Egypt, a mother had a beautiful baby boy. The king had made a cruel law against Hebrew baby boys, so she hid her baby for three months.
A little basket
When she could hide him no longer, she made a little basket of bulrushes, put her baby inside, and laid it among the reeds by the river.
Miriam watches
The baby’s big sister, Miriam, stood a little way off to watch over him and see what would happen.
The princess finds him
Pharaoh’s daughter came down to the river and saw the basket. When she opened it, the baby cried, and she felt compassion for him.
Safe with Mother
Miriam asked, “Shall I go and call… a nurse?” She fetched the baby’s own mother to care for him. The princess named him Moses.
God watches over even the smallest baby.
How does God take care of you?
Dear God, thank you for watching over us while we sleep. Thank you for the people who care for us. Amen.
