What does the Bible say about environmental stewardship?

God created the earth and entrusted humanity with its care. From the Garden of Eden onward, Scripture establishes our role as stewards — not owners — of creation. Key King James Version passages include Genesis 2:15, Psalm 24:1, Genesis 1:28. This page collects 10 KJV verses about environmental stewardship, each quoted in full.

Does the Bible talk about caring for the environment?

Yes. Genesis 2:15 shows God placing Adam in the garden 'to dress it and to keep it.' Scripture consistently presents humanity as stewards of God's creation, responsible for its care.

What does dominion mean in Genesis 1:28?

Dominion means responsible authority and stewardship, not exploitation. As God's representatives, humans are called to manage creation wisely, reflecting God's own care for what He has made.
