    About this printable

"In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you." (1 Thessalonians 5:18). Three minutes a day. Thirty days. A measurably different heart by the end of the month. This printable gives you everything you need: a single-page daily template (print 30 copies, or reprint weekly) and a list of 30 KJV verses on thanksgiving — one for each day of the month. Read the verse, write three specific things you are thankful for, name one person God has blessed you through, and pray a short thanks. Done in less time than scrolling your phone.

    Why this printable matters

Gratitude is not a personality trait — it is a discipline, and like every discipline, it changes the person who practices it. Brain researchers have measured this in laboratories. Christians have known it for two thousand years. "Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks" (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18) — three commands strung together like links in a chain, because they belong together. The rejoicing soul is the praying soul, and the praying soul is the thankful soul. The opposite is also true. The ungrateful heart cannot rejoice and will not pray. It accumulates blessings without seeing them. It receives mercy without naming it. Over time, an ungrateful Christian becomes indistinguishable from an unbelieving neighbor — same complaints, same anxieties, same low-grade discontent. This journal exists to break that cycle. Three minutes a day. A verse, three thanks, one person, one prayer. The first week feels small. The second week the eyes start opening — you find yourself noticing things during the day specifically because you know you'll write them down. By the third week the noticing becomes automatic. By the fourth week it becomes worship. After 30 days, re-read the whole journal. You will see what God has done with the same eyes that wrote it down — and you will worship a God you knew was good but had forgotten how to thank.

    How to use this printable

    1. 1

Print the template — 30 copies, or one to reprint weekly

US Letter, portrait, 100% scale. Either print 30 copies upfront (most efficient) or print 4–5 a week as you go.

    2. 2

Bind the pages or use a notebook

Three-hole punch and put in a binder, staple along the left edge, or paste each completed page into a journal. The bound version becomes a treasured keepsake.

    3. 3

      Pick a consistent time

First thing in the morning with coffee, or last thing at night before bed. The body learns rhythm — a specific chair, a specific lamp, a specific moment.

    4. 4

      Write specifically

Not 'I'm thankful for my family' but 'I'm thankful that my daughter laughed at breakfast.' Specific gratitude trains the eyes to see specific mercies.

    5. 5

      Name one person each day

God blesses us through people. Naming the person trains us to see them, thank them, and tell them. Many entries will become text messages or thank-you notes.

    6. 6

Re-read the whole journal at day 30

This is the most important step. Sit down on day 31 with a cup of coffee and read every page. You will worship.

    Frequently asked questions

Is this gratitude journal really free?

Yes — fully free to download, print, and distribute. No signup, no email gate, no watermarks. Print copies for your whole small group, family, or ministry.

    What translation is used?

All 30 verses reference the King James Version (KJV), which is in the public domain.

How long does each entry take?

Three to five minutes for the daily template. The slowest part is usually choosing which three things to write — that is the work the Holy Spirit is doing.

What paper size is the PDF?

Standard US Letter (8.5 × 11 in). It also prints cleanly on A4 — choose 'Fit to printable area' in your printer dialog.

What printer settings should I use?

Print at 100% scale, portrait orientation, on standard 24 lb paper. Black-and-white printing is fine — the layout uses minimal color and ink.

Can I do this with my family at the dinner table?

Absolutely. One sheet at the table each evening. Each family member names one thing they are thankful for. The shared journal becomes a family heirloom.

What if I miss a day?

Just continue the next day. Do not restart. The goal is 30 days of practice in roughly 30 days — habit, not perfection.

Is this just for November / Thanksgiving?

No — although it works perfectly for the month of November. The 30-day format works equally well at the start of a new year, during a hard season, or any time you sense your heart growing dim.
