What does the Bible say about conscience?

The Bible teaches that conscience is God's moral witness in the human heart (Romans 2:15). Believers are called to maintain a clear conscience (Acts 24:16), and the blood of Christ cleanses the conscience from guilt (Hebrews 9:14).

What is a seared conscience?

A seared conscience (1 Timothy 4:2) is one that has been repeatedly ignored until it no longer functions properly — like nerve endings burned by a hot iron. It no longer convicts of sin, leaving the person morally numb.
