Seraphim — The Burning Worshipers
Seraphim are six-winged angels who burn with holiness and lead heaven's worship of the thrice-holy God.
The word seraphim means 'burning ones.' Isaiah saw them in his temple vision: each had six wings — two covering the face, two the feet, and two for flight. Their cry 'Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts' shook the door posts and exposed Isaiah's sin (Isaiah 6:1-7).

Why It Matters
Seraphim teach the church what worship sounds like in heaven. Before God's holiness, even sinless creatures veil themselves — and yet God's answer to repentant sinners is cleansing fire from His own altar.
Application for Today
Let your worship grow vertical. Sing not for atmosphere but for the audience of One. When the holiness of God exposes sin, let it drive you to the altar where Christ has already provided the cleansing coal.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are seraphim the same as cherubim?
No. Cherubim primarily guard God's presence; seraphim primarily proclaim His holiness. Both are angelic orders described in distinct passages.
Why 'holy' three times?
Hebrew uses repetition for emphasis; the threefold 'holy' is the highest form. Many Christians also see in it a foreshadowing of the triune nature of God.
