Ghost's HTML card accepts the widget as-is, both inside posts and in site-wide code injection for a header or footer verse.

    Customize the widget

    What it looks like

Live preview of the daily verse in the paper theme. Light and dark themes are available in the builder.

    Ghost specifics worth knowing

    • For a verse on every page, paste the iframe into Settings → Code injection → Site Footer inside your own wrapper element.
    • Ghost newsletters strip iframes — for email, screenshot the verse or link to the verse page instead.
    • The widget inherits no styles from your theme, so it looks identical across Casper, Source and custom themes.

    Why this widget

    No plugin, no account

One line of HTML. Nothing to install, nothing to keep updated, no API key.

    No ads or trackers

The frame sets no cookies and loads no third-party scripts onto your visitors.

    Public-domain KJV

Every verse is the King James Version, free to quote and republish with no licence.

    Ghost widget questions

Can I use the widget in a Ghost email newsletter?

No. Email clients block iframes. Link to the verse of the day page instead, or paste the verse text directly into the newsletter.

Does it work with Ghost(Pro) and self-hosted Ghost?

Yes, both. The widget is a plain iframe served from our domain, so nothing needs to be installed on your Ghost instance.
