Water Turned into Wine
Jesus' first public miracle at a wedding in Cana turned six water pots into the best wine.
At a wedding in Cana of Galilee the wine ran out. Mary told the servants to do whatever Jesus said. He commanded them to fill six stone pots with water — and when drawn out, it had become wine, better than what had been served first. This was the beginning of His signs.
What Happened
Key KJV Scriptures
"When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom."
"This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him."
Spiritual Significance
John calls this the first 'sign' that revealed Jesus' glory. The Creator who once turned rain into grapes into wine over months did it in a moment — and saved the best for last, a picture of His kingdom.
Lesson for Today
Jesus cares about ordinary joy and ordinary need. Bring Him your empty pots and watch what He pours out.
