    The Book of Joshua

The Book of Joshua records the fulfillment of God's promise to give Israel the Promised Land. Following the death of Moses, leadership passes to Joshua, who faithfully guides the people as they enter Canaan. The book highlights God's faithfulness to His covenant and the importance of obedience and trust.

Joshua begins with God commissioning Joshua to be strong and courageous, reminding him that success depends on obedience to God's word. Israel crosses the Jordan River miraculously, echoing the earlier crossing of the Red Sea. The conquest of Jericho demonstrates that victory comes through faith and obedience rather than military strength.

As Israel conquers the land, Joshua emphasizes reliance on God, though moments of disobedience—such as the sin of Achan—show the consequences of failing to follow God fully. The latter half of the book focuses on the division of the land among the twelve tribes, reinforcing God's promise of inheritance.

The book concludes with Joshua's farewell address, calling the people to choose faithfulness and reminding them to serve the Lord alone.

    Joshua teaches:

    • •God is faithful to His promises
    • •Victory comes through obedience and trust
    • •God's people must choose whom they will serve.
