What does the Bible say about growing in faith?

Faith is not static — it is meant to grow. Like a seed that becomes a mighty tree, faith starts small and matures through nourishment, testing, and time. Key King James Version passages include 2 Peter 3:18, Romans 10:17, Hebrews 11:1. This page collects 10 KJV verses about growing in faith, each quoted in full.

How does faith grow?

Faith grows through hearing and studying God's Word (Romans 10:17), through trials that test and refine it (James 1:2-4), through prayer, through community, and through obedience that puts faith into action (James 2:17).

Can faith be lost?

Faith can weaken through neglect, sin, or prolonged trials. However, God is faithful to sustain His children (Philippians 1:6). Strengthening faith requires intentional effort — daily time in Scripture, consistent prayer, and honest community.
