What is faith according to the Bible?

Hebrews 11:1 defines faith as 'the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.' Biblical faith is confident trust in God's character, promises, and Word—even when circumstances seem contradictory. It is not wishful thinking but grounded assurance based on God's proven reliability.

How can I grow my faith?

Scripture teaches that faith grows through hearing God's Word (Romans 10:17), prayer (Mark 9:24), obedience (James 2:17), trials that test and refine it (1 Peter 1:7), and fellowship with other believers (Hebrews 10:25).
