Key King James Version passages include 1 Thessalonians 5:18, Psalm 100:4, Psalm 107:1. This page collects 10 KJV verses about giving thanks, each quoted in full.

Why does God want us to give thanks?

Giving thanks acknowledges God as the source of all good things (James 1:17), cultivates humility and contentment, strengthens our faith, and is simply the appropriate response to God's overwhelming goodness and mercy.

How can I give thanks in difficult circumstances?

1 Thessalonians 5:18 says to give thanks 'in' every circumstance, not necessarily 'for' every circumstance. You can thank God for His presence, faithfulness, and promises even when circumstances are painful.
