What does the Bible say about dependence on god?

Self-sufficiency is celebrated in our culture, but Scripture calls it a dangerous illusion. True strength comes from acknowledging our complete dependence on God for every breath, every provision, and every step forward. Key King James Version passages include Proverbs 3:5-6, John 15:5, Psalm 37:5. This page collects 10 KJV verses about dependence on god, each quoted in full.

Why should we depend on God?

Because apart from Christ we can do nothing (John 15:5). Our sufficiency is not from ourselves but from God (2 Corinthians 3:5). Dependence on God is the pathway to true fruitfulness, peace, and strength.

How can I learn to depend more on God?

Through daily prayer, meditating on Scripture, surrendering decisions to Him, recognizing His hand in past provisions, and intentionally trusting Him in areas where you feel most capable on your own.
