Dryness is not always sin
It can be. Revelation 2:4 addresses a church that has left its first love, and Jeremiah 2:13 describes people who forsook the fountain to dig broken cisterns. But Job, David, and the psalmists also went dry without any charge against them, and Christ Himself was led by the Spirit into the wilderness. Elijah was fed and rested first. Galatians 6:9 promises a harvest 'if we faint not', which assumes long stretches of unrewarded faithfulness.
