What does the Bible say about nighttime prayers?

The night can bring fear, loneliness, and restless thoughts — but it also offers a sacred opportunity for prayer. Many of the psalms were written in night seasons, and Jesus Himself often prayed through the night. Key King James Version passages include Psalm 4:8, Psalm 63:6, Psalm 119:148. This page collects 10 KJV verses about nighttime prayers, each quoted in full.

Is it biblical to pray at night?

Absolutely. Many psalms describe nighttime prayer and meditation (Psalm 63:6, 119:148). Jesus Himself prayed all night (Luke 6:12). The night is a natural time for reflection, worship, and bringing concerns to God.

How can I pray when I can't sleep?

Use sleepless moments for meditation on Scripture (Psalm 119:148), worship (Psalm 42:8), and honest conversation with God. Rather than fighting insomnia with anxiety, redirect your thoughts toward prayer and trust.
