Hezekiah Healed of His Sickness
God adds fifteen years to King Hezekiah's life after he prays in tears for healing.
Hezekiah was sick unto death. Isaiah told him to set his house in order, for he would die. The king turned his face to the wall and prayed and wept sore. Before Isaiah had left the middle court the word of the Lord came: He had heard the prayer and would add fifteen years to Hezekiah's life.

Frequently Asked Questions
Did God really change His mind?
God's revealed word can include conditional warnings. Hezekiah's prayer was itself part of God's plan; the Lord remained perfectly faithful to His character while answering prayer.
What was the lump of figs for?
It was a simple poultice. God often joins His healing power with ordinary means, showing that both the cure and the remedy come from Him.
