    Mark 10:27 – Meaning & Devotional

"And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible."

    — Mark 10:27 (KJV)

    What This Verse Means

Jesus first looked at His disciples — really seeing their confusion and concern — before speaking this transformative truth. Human impossibility is not God's impossibility. What we cannot achieve, God can. What seems permanently blocked to us is an open door to Him.

The context is salvation: 'Who then can be saved?' Jesus answered that salvation is humanly impossible — no one can earn it or achieve it. But with God, even this impossibility becomes reality through grace. The same principle applies to every 'impossible' we face.

    Historical Context

A rich young ruler had walked away from Jesus, unwilling to part with his wealth. The disciples were astonished — if a righteous, wealthy man could not be saved, who could? Jesus clarified that salvation is entirely God's work, not human effort.

    How to Apply This Today

Stop trying to accomplish divine-sized tasks with human-sized resources. Acknowledge what is impossible for you, then invite God into the equation. His involvement changes everything. Pray: 'Lord, I cannot do this, but You can.'

    🙏 A Prayer from Mark 10:27

Lord, I bring You my impossible situations. With You, all things are possible. I trust Your power to accomplish what I cannot. Amen.
