Luke 1:37 – Meaning & Devotional
"For with God nothing shall be impossible."
What This Verse Means
The angel Gabriel declares an absolute: no word from God will ever fail, no situation is beyond His power, no promise is too great for Him to fulfill. 'Nothing' means nothing.
This statement doesn't promise that God will do whatever we want, but that He can do whatever He wills. His power has no upper limit, and His promises have no expiration date.
Historical Context
Gabriel spoke this to Mary after announcing that she, a virgin, would conceive the Son of God. He also referenced Elizabeth's miraculous pregnancy in old age as proof that God's power transcends natural limitations.
How to Apply This Today
When facing seemingly impossible situations, declare this truth: 'With God, nothing is impossible.' Align your faith with His limitless power and trust His ability to do what you cannot.
