What does the Bible say about breathing prayers?

Breathing prayers are short, spontaneous petitions offered throughout the day — a sigh to God in a difficult moment, a whispered thanksgiving, a cry for help. Scripture encourages us to pray without ceasing, and these brief prayers are how many believers live out that command. Key King James Version passages include 1 Thessalonians 5:17, Nehemiah 2:4, Psalm 55:17. This page collects 10 KJV verses about breathing prayers, each quoted in full.

What is a breathing prayer?

A breathing prayer is a short, spontaneous prayer offered in the moment — sometimes just a few words like 'Lord, help me' or 'Thank You, God.' It keeps your heart connected to God throughout the day.

Are short prayers effective?

Absolutely. Jesus taught that God doesn't require lengthy prayers. Nehemiah's quick prayer before speaking to the king shows that even a moment's prayer can move heaven.
