What does the Bible say about moving on?

Whether recovering from heartbreak, failure, loss, or a season that has ended, moving on requires courage and faith. The Bible encourages us to release the past and press forward toward what God has ahead. Key King James Version passages include Philippians 3:13-14, Isaiah 43:18-19, 2 Corinthians 5:17. This page collects 10 KJV verses about moving on, each quoted in full.

How does the Bible encourage us to move on?

By commanding us to forget what is behind and press forward (Philippians 3:13-14), by reminding us that God is always doing new things (Isaiah 43:18-19), and by warning against looking back (Luke 9:62).

Is it wrong to grieve before moving on?

No. Grieving is healthy and biblical (Ecclesiastes 3:4). Moving on doesn't mean skipping grief — it means eventually releasing the past into God's hands and trusting Him with the future.
