What does the Bible say about learning from mistakes?

Everyone makes mistakes — even heroes of the faith. Peter denied Christ, David committed adultery, Moses struck the rock in anger. Key King James Version passages include Proverbs 24:16, Romans 8:28, Psalm 37:24. This page collects 10 KJV verses about learning from mistakes, each quoted in full.

Does God forgive our mistakes?

Yes. 1 John 1:9 promises forgiveness when we confess. God's grace covers our mistakes, and He specializes in turning failures into testimonies. Peter's greatest mistake led to his greatest restoration (John 21:15-17).

How can I stop repeating the same mistakes?

Examine what led to the failure (Lamentations 3:40), seek God's wisdom (James 1:5), invite accountability, change the patterns and environments that contributed, and rely on the Holy Spirit for strength to make different choices.
