What does the Bible say about fruit of patience?

Patience is listed as a fruit of the Spirit, yet it is one of the hardest virtues to cultivate. Unlike human impatience, God's patience is rooted in love and produces perseverance. Key King James Version passages include Galatians 5:22-23, James 5:7-8, Romans 12:12. This page collects 10 KJV verses about fruit of patience, each quoted in full.

Why is patience called a fruit of the Spirit?

Because patience is not something we can manufacture on our own — it is produced by the Holy Spirit within us (Galatians 5:22). As we yield to the Spirit, patience grows naturally in our character.

How does God develop patience?

Primarily through trials (Romans 5:3-4). Difficult circumstances force us to wait on God and trust His timing, which over time produces a settled, patient spirit.
