What does the Bible say about forgiving yourself?

Many believers have accepted God's forgiveness but struggle to forgive themselves. Past failures, regrets, and shame can keep us chained to guilt long after God has set us free. Key King James Version passages include Romans 8:1, 1 John 1:9, Psalm 103:12. This page collects 10 KJV verses about forgiving yourself, each quoted in full.

Is it biblical to forgive yourself?

While the phrase 'forgive yourself' isn't in the Bible, the principle is clear: if God no longer condemns us (Romans 8:1) and no longer remembers our sins (Hebrews 8:12), continuing in self-condemnation contradicts His grace.

How can I stop feeling guilty after God has forgiven me?

Meditate on verses about God's complete forgiveness. Replace the lies of guilt with truth from Scripture. Recognize that ongoing guilt after confession may be from the enemy, not from the Holy Spirit, who convicts but also comforts.
