What does the Bible say about finding rest?

In a world that glorifies busyness, God calls His people to rest — not as laziness but as an act of trust. True rest is found not in the absence of activity but in the presence of God. Key King James Version passages include Matthew 11:28-30, Psalm 46:10, Exodus 33:14. This page collects 10 KJV verses about finding rest, each quoted in full.

What does it mean to rest in God?

Resting in God means trusting Him completely — ceasing from anxious striving and placing your burdens, plans, and worries in His capable hands. It is an active faith that says, 'God is in control, and I can be at peace.'

Is rest a biblical command?

Yes. God instituted the Sabbath as a day of rest (Exodus 20:8-11), and Jesus invited the weary to find rest in Him (Matthew 11:28). Rest is both a gift and a command — part of God's design for human flourishing.
