What does the Bible say about favor?

Favor in the Bible is not mere luck or coincidence—it is God's supernatural grace that opens doors no man can shut, provides beyond human ability, and positions His people for purpose. From Joseph in Egypt to Esther in Persia to Mary in Nazareth, God's favor transformed ordinary lives into extraordinary testimonies. Key King James Version passages include Psalm 5:12, Proverbs 3:3-4, Psalm 90:17. This page collects 10 KJV verses about favor, each quoted in full.

What is God's favor?

God's favor is His supernatural grace and goodwill toward those who walk with Him. It manifests as divine provision, open doors, protection, and blessing beyond natural ability. Psalm 5:12 says God surrounds the righteous 'with favour as with a shield.' It is God doing for you what you cannot do for yourself.

How do I receive God's favor?

Scripture shows favor flows through: walking uprightly (Psalm 84:11), pursuing mercy and truth (Proverbs 3:3-4), humility (James 4:6), obedience (Deuteronomy 28:1-2), and a genuine relationship with God. Joseph and Esther received favor during difficult seasons because God was with them.
