    The Second Coming of Christ

The visible, glorious return of Christ to judge and reign.

    The Second Coming of Christ

Christ Himself, the angels at the ascension, and the apostles unite in promising that Jesus will return visibly, in glory, with His holy angels — to judge the living and the dead and to set up His kingdom.

    The Prophecy

"...this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven."
"...and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory."
"For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first..."

    Promised at the ascension

The angels stood with the disciples on Olivet and promised that Jesus would return in the same visible, bodily manner He had ascended.

    Coming in glory

Unlike the first coming in humility, the second will be in clouds and glory, every eye seeing Him — the consummation of every prophecy.
