    The Colt

    Jesus asked for a young colt — and the owner let Him have it.

    Hosanna

    The crowds welcomed Jesus as King with branches and shouts.

    Do together
    Cut green paper palm branches and march around the room shouting Hosanna.

    Palm Sunday Bible Questions Parents Ask

    What is Palm Sunday for kids?

    Palm Sunday is the Sunday before Easter, when Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a young donkey and the crowds waved palm branches and shouted 'Hosanna' (John 12:12–15). It begins Holy Week.

    Why did people wave palm branches?

    Palm branches were how people welcomed a victorious king. By waving them and spreading their coats on the road, the crowd was saying that Jesus was their King.

    What craft can children do for Palm Sunday?

    Cut palm branches from green paper, tape them to a straw or stick, and march while reading John 12:13 aloud. Then colour the free Palm Sunday page.
