Good Friday Bible Questions Parents Ask

How do I explain Good Friday to a child?

Say it plainly and briefly: everyone has done wrong, and wrong has to be paid for. Jesus loved us so much He took our punishment on the cross so we could be forgiven — and on Sunday He came back to life. Read John 3:16 together.

Why is it called Good Friday if Jesus died?

It is called good because of what His death achieved: forgiveness of sin and peace with God. The sadness of Friday only makes sense in light of Easter Sunday.

What activities are appropriate for Good Friday with kids?

Keep it quiet and simple: read Luke 23 aloud, make a small stick cross, colour a gentle page, and save the empty-tomb page for Easter morning.

Where is Good Friday in the Bible?

    Matthew 27, Mark 15, Luke 23, and John 18–19.

    What Bible translation is used?

All verses are from the public-domain King James Version (KJV).
