Easter Bible Questions Parents Ask
Where is the Easter story in the Bible?
The Easter story runs across Matthew 26–28, Mark 14–16, Luke 22–24 and John 18–20. For children, Luke 23:33–46 (the cross) and Matthew 28:1–10 (the empty tomb) are the two clearest passages to read aloud.
How do I explain Easter to a child?
Say it simply: Jesus died on the cross to take away our sin, He was buried, and on the third day He rose again. Read Matthew 28:6 together — 'He is not here: for he is risen, as he said' — and let the empty tomb coloring page carry the picture.
What days are in Holy Week?
Holy Week begins with Palm Sunday and runs through Maundy Thursday (the last supper), Good Friday (the crucifixion), Holy Saturday, and Easter Sunday (the resurrection). This plan gives one short reading for each.
