Abaddon and Apollyon — Destroyer of the Bottomless Pit

What does Abaddon / Apollyon mean?

Is Apollyon the same as Satan?

Scripture does not equate them. He appears to be a distinct high-ranking demonic being who serves the larger satanic rebellion.

Are the locusts literal?

Revelation's imagery is symbolic of real, terrifying spiritual torment. The point is unmistakable: a demonic judgment that only Christ can save us from.

Is Abaddon the same as Satan?
