What does the Bible say about healing from trauma?

Trauma leaves deep wounds that can affect every area of life — emotional, physical, and spiritual. While the Bible does not use the modern word 'trauma,' it speaks powerfully to the broken, wounded, and afflicted. Key King James Version passages include Psalm 147:3, Psalm 34:18, Isaiah 61:1. This page collects 10 KJV verses about healing from trauma, each quoted in full.

Can God heal emotional trauma?

Yes. Psalm 147:3 says God 'healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.' While healing may involve professional help and take time, God is the ultimate source of restoration and wholeness.

Is it okay for Christians to seek therapy for trauma?

Absolutely. Seeking professional help for trauma is consistent with biblical wisdom. Just as we see doctors for physical ailments, counseling is a valuable tool God can use as part of the healing journey.
