What does the Bible say about good works?

While salvation is by grace through faith alone, the Bible makes clear that genuine faith produces good works. Good works are not the root of salvation but its fruit — evidence that God's Spirit is actively transforming a believer's life. Key King James Version passages include Ephesians 2:10, James 2:17, Titus 3:8. This page collects 10 KJV verses about good works, each quoted in full.

Are we saved by good works?

No. Ephesians 2:8-9 clearly states salvation is by grace through faith, not by works. However, Ephesians 2:10 adds that we are created for good works — they are the result of salvation, not its cause.

What is the relationship between faith and works?

James 2:17 says 'faith without works is dead.' Genuine saving faith naturally produces good works. Works don't save, but they demonstrate that faith is real and alive.
