The New Jerusalem Descending
Revelation 21 foretells the holy city descending from God out of heaven.
John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. God Himself dwells with men; there is no more death, sorrow, or pain.
The Prophecy
"And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice...Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them..."
"And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away."
"And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him: And they shall see his face...and they shall reign for ever and ever."
The bride adorned
The New Jerusalem is the eternal home of the redeemed — described as a city, but also as a bride: the people of God in glorious union with Christ forever.
No more tears
Every wound of sin is healed; every tear wiped away. The curse of Genesis 3 is finally undone, and God dwells with His people face to face.
