Big Idea
Christian character is not manufactured by self-effort but produced by the indwelling Spirit — one fruit with nine flavors.
Context
Galatians is Paul's defense of gospel freedom against legalism. Chapter 5 contrasts the works of the flesh (a list) with the fruit of the Spirit (singular).
