30-Day Psalms & Proverbs Reading Plan for Kids

This free 30-day plan reads the friendliest Psalms and Proverbs with children — Psalm 23, Psalm 91, Psalm 139, Proverbs 3 — in the King James Version, one short passage a day with a plain-English takeaway and a printable sticker chart.

Psalms teach children how to talk to God: thankful, honest, unafraid. Proverbs teach them how to live with other people. Thirty days covers both.

    How to make it stick

    • •Read the psalm out loud together — these were written to be spoken and sung.
    • •Let the child pray one line of the psalm back to God in their own words.
    • •Keep the chart somewhere visible so the streak is its own reward.

    Questions parents ask

Are the Psalms too hard for young children?

The passages here were picked for short, concrete language. Read a verse at a time and use the takeaway sentence to explain it.

Is this a devotional or a reading plan?

Both. The reading is Scripture only; the one-line takeaway gives you something to talk about without needing a separate devotional book.

Can we do it in less than 30 days?

Yes — some families read two entries a day. The chart still works; just tick two boxes.
