What does the Bible say about leaving a legacy?

Legacy is not about wealth or fame — it's about what endures after we're gone. The Bible emphasizes passing on faith, wisdom, and righteousness to the next generation. Key King James Version passages include Proverbs 13:22, Psalm 78:4, 2 Timothy 2:2. This page collects 10 KJV verses about leaving a legacy, each quoted in full.

What kind of legacy does the Bible encourage?

Scripture emphasizes a legacy of faith (2 Timothy 2:2), wisdom (Proverbs 13:22), a good name (Proverbs 22:1), and generational discipleship (Deuteronomy 6:6-7). The greatest inheritance is not financial but spiritual.

How can I leave a lasting legacy?

Invest in people over possessions, teach the next generation about God (Psalm 78:4), live with integrity, serve your community, and prioritize eternal values over temporary achievements.
