What does the Bible say about identity in christ?

The world tries to define you by your appearance, achievements, failures, or past. But God defines you by what Christ has done for you. Key King James Version passages include 2 Corinthians 5:17, Ephesians 2:10, 1 Peter 2:9. This page collects 10 KJV verses about identity in christ, each quoted in full.

What is my identity in Christ?

In Christ you are: a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17), God's workmanship (Ephesians 2:10), chosen and holy (1 Peter 2:9), a child of God (John 1:12), an heir with Christ (Romans 8:17), forgiven (Ephesians 1:7), and sealed by the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 1:13). Your identity is not earned—it was given by grace.

How do I find my identity in Christ instead of the world?

Replace the world's labels with Scripture's truth. Daily meditate on verses that declare who you are in Christ. Reject comparisons and people-pleasing. Surround yourself with believers who affirm your God-given identity. Remember: your worth was settled at the cross, not in the opinions of others.

How do I find my identity in Christ?

Your identity in Christ is not found through introspection but through Scripture. Meditate on what God says about you: chosen (1 Peter 2:9), beloved (1 John 3:1), forgiven (Ephesians 1:7), new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17), God's workmanship (Ephesians 2:10). Let these truths replace the world's labels.

How do I find my identity in Christ rather than in achievements?

Ephesians 2:10 declares believers are God's 'workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works'—identity precedes achievement. When worth flows from being God's beloved child (1 John 3:1), failure no longer threatens your core identity.
