What "What Is the Story of the Exodus?" Actually Means
The Exodus (recorded in the book of Exodus) is one of the Bible's most pivotal events. After 400 years of slavery in Egypt, God raised up Moses to demand Pharaoh release His people. When Pharaoh refused, God sent ten devastating plagues, culminating in the death of every firstborn in Egypt—except those protected by the blood of the Passover lamb. Pharaoh finally released Israel, but then pursued them to the Red Sea, where God miraculously parted the waters for Israel and drowned the Egyptian army. The Exodus established Israel as a nation, instituted the Passover, and powerfully foreshadowed Christ's redemption: just as the Passover lamb's blood saved Israel, Christ's blood saves believers from spiritual death.
