Cherubim — Guardians of God's Holiness
Cherubim are powerful angelic beings who guard God's holy presence, from Eden's gate to the throne of glory.
Cherubim first appear in Genesis 3:24, stationed east of Eden with a flaming sword. Their golden image overshadowed the mercy seat of the Ark (Exodus 25:18-22). Ezekiel 1 and 10 unveil them as four-faced living creatures of dazzling glory who carry the throne of God Himself.

Approach God with reverence. The same Lord who is enthroned between the cherubim invites you 'boldly unto the throne of grace' (Hebrews 4:16) because of Christ's blood — not because His holiness has dimmed.

Are cherubim chubby winged babies?
No. That image is Renaissance art, not Scripture. Biblical cherubim are awesome, multi-faced living creatures associated with God's throne and judgment.
Was Satan a cherub?
Ezekiel 28:14 describes the king of Tyre with language many take as a glimpse of Lucifer before his fall — 'the anointed cherub that covereth.' If so, the highest covering angel became the chief rebel.
