The Plain Meaning
David uses a powerful image to describe God's forgiveness. East and west never meet—they are infinitely apart. That's how completely God removes our sins.
Word Study
'Hirchiq' means to remove to a distance, to put far away. It's the causative form of 'rachaq' (to be far). God actively distances our sins from us—it's not passive forgetting but deliberate, permanent removal to an unreachable distance.
Living It Out
When God forgives, He removes your sin completely. He doesn't hold it against you or bring it up again. His forgiveness is total and permanent.
