Numbers 18 Summary
Numbers 18 defines the responsibilities and provisions for priests and Levites. Aaron's family bore the responsibility (and liability) for the sanctuary, while the Levites assisted them. In return, priests received portions of offerings, and Levites received the tithe.
God told the Levites they would have no land inheritance — He Himself was their inheritance. This radical arrangement taught that serving God is its own reward and that He provides for those who serve Him.
